Blue Voyage - Life on Board a Turkish Gulet

A Blue Cruise is probably one of the most relaxing and marvelous vacations to be had. Cruising leisurely on board a Turkish gulet along a mountainous and pristine coastline rich with the remains of ancient civilizations offers the traveler much to see and experience. The turquoise blue sea in this part of the world is so clear that the sea bed is often visible. Numerous wooded bays and coves, many of them secluded, dot the shoreline and Blue Voyage charters give one enough opportunity to wander around and explore at will. Anatolia's rich culture and history unfold along the way as the gulet stops at charming fishing villages, market towns, popular resorts as well as a host of ancient ruins and monuments. Add to that the relaxed and friendly atmosphere as well as modern comforts on board the gulet and you have something close to a floating paradise.

A Blue Cruise charter gulet, which is a motor powered wooden yacht made by hand, combines indigenous boat building traditions with modern technology. These yachts run on motors at speeds between 8 and 11 knots, usually, and are generally capable of sailing only when the wind permits. Gulets are designed to accommodate a maximum of 16 passengers who sleep in twin or single cabins, which have attached showers and WCs. Many gulets are air - conditioned. Most of the time on board is spent lounging, making friends and sunbathing on the spacious deck or dining in the saloon or under an awning. Gulets usually have well equipped galleys and fresh delicious Turkish cuisine is served on board. Since all gulets have bars, passengers can buy alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.

On an average, gulets cruise for three hours everyday and keep close to shore. On board a gulet, one rarely confronts choppy waters because the boat normally moves in and out of bays and coves, stopping at least twice a day. Gulets have water sports equipment for those interested in snorkeling, windsurfing, diving and water - skiing. Guests have plenty of opportunity to swim in the clean waters of the Turkish Mediterranean and sunbathe as much as they wish. As the gulet drops anchor near quaint villages and towns, islands as well as interesting historical sites, one can undertake short treks inland to explore secluded spots, the remains of ancient civilizations as well as to get a feel of life in Turkish fishing villages and small towns. Though the yacht normally stops for the night at solitary coves, it will dock at fairly large coastal towns at least twice or thrice over the duration of the cruise in order to give passengers the chance to shop, wander around as well as sample the nightlife.

Blue Voyage cruises are known for attentive and personalized service as well as for the fresh delectable cuisine served on board. The captain, cook and crew are friendly and take pains to ensure that guests are happy with the food and service. The emphasis is on relaxation and enjoyment. On some evenings, guests are entertained by the captain and crew. The idea is to encourage passengers to mingle and have fun together. Dinner on the aft deck under the stars is a wonderful experience. Though the crew can usually manage to speak a few words of English, guests are advised to take a pocket dictionary along to facilitate communication if need be.

Laundry facilities are rarely offered on board so it's best to take more than one swimsuit. Guests may, of course, wash their own clothes if they wish. Some light warm clothing will come in handy as the evenings can be cool. Other clothes and gear that are recommended are a pair of full length trousers for historical and nature treks, a few long and short sleeved shirts, sun shades, beach towel, sun screen, hat and flip - flops. Snorkeling enthusiasts might want to take their own goggles along with them. Bed and bath linen are provided on board. Though each cabin has storage space, it is best to carry a collapsible bag rather than a suitcase because the former are easier to stow.

In general, gulets are comfortable and the crew is always at hand to help passengers if required. Life on board a gulet, as passengers soon discover, is truly a pleasure.

So Many Ways Of Making Money Online

I find it absolutely amazing how the internet has just permeated into every aspect of our lives. Money used to be represented by gold, copper or other metals. The value of money used to be backed by the amount of gold the issuer had. Then when money was taken off the gold standard, it became represented by paper. The piece of paper in itself had no real value. It was who was printing that piece of paper that mattered. Money became an IOU of sorts. Today, with the internet, money is not even that piece of paper anymore. It is represented just by numbers. Money can be created out of nowhere, and can disappear as quickly. Making money has never been easier. Today, even virtual products can be bought and sold, for real money. All thanks to the internet.

So what are the ways of making money online ? My list is far from exhaustive, I'm sure.

Online marketing has been used in the real world, where real products are bought and sold. Supermarket chains now allow their customers to order their products online. Shopping used to take 2 hours, including travelling time. Not to mention, one had to match one's timing to when the shops were open. Today, you can do your groceries at 1 am, and get them delivered the next day. Just log onto the website, click a few items and pay with your credit card. Done. You don't even need to buy your things from shops in your neighbourhood. The shops don't even need to be in your country. In some cases, the shops don't even exist in the real world, just online. You can get books and many other products from Amazon.com. eBay is virtually synonymous with online buying and selling. You never have to touch a paper dollar. Paypal transfers some numbers from your account to the merchant's account at a click of a button. Selling products online has opened a whole new world of customers. Now you can sell your products to people worldwide. All they need is an internet connection. Then the postal service collects the goods, and ships them over to you. And I thought with the advent of faxes and emails, the postal services will go out of business. Now they are busier than ever.

So what else can one buy with online marketing ? Digital products are becoming increasingly popular. E-books, computer programmes etc can all be sent through the internet. No need to wait for the postal service to deliver the product to you. Just click on the button, pay with paypal or your credit card, a few numbers disappear again, and the product is yours ! Huge business. If the Google advertisements are to be believed, many people are getting rich just selling digital products online. The production costs are minimal. Outlay doesn't cost much. It is hardly surprising these products are able to pay out as high as 50-70% in commissions.

Google and Yahoo! function almost entirely in the internet world. Look how rich their creators have become, and their wealth is still increasing.

Then you can make money online with advertisements. Google AdSense is probably one of the best known ones. People pay Google for its pay-per-click ads, called adwords. Others allow Google to put a few little advertisements on their websites. Hardly complicated. In fact, for the Google people, it's almost nothing, as the advertisements are written by the advertisers themselves. The computer helps them find places for the advertisements to appear. People who want the advertisements simply apply to have them appear on their websites. Someone else clicks on the advertisement, the advertiser gets charged, and the "advertisee" gets paid. Hopefully a sale also results. And Google makes a fortune. They must be hundreds of digital products and blogs / websites all tailored towards making money using AdWords or adsense. These products in themselves generate millions of dollars.

There are also many websites set up specifically for people to get their websites noticed by those searching for similar products. Some are free. Others charge a fee. You can always get a website set up by someone who is technologically savvy, or use one of the many services available.

Then there's affiliate marketing. Wonderful way of making money online. For this, you don't even need to have products. You just borrow other people's products, market it for them, and get paid commissions if the products are sold. Add this on to websites that get created for you, and you barely need to do much work yourself. I've found that you can even pay people to write articles for you to promote the products ! Some places that offer affiliate marketing I've found are clickbank, amazon and the rich dad company.

If all this sounds too complicated, there are the old easy ways of making money online. Enterprising people have put together lists of companies who are happy to pay people to answer surveys online. For a small fee, these companies are able to get surveys to find answers to how their customers feel, what they want and what products they like. They don't have to hire people to do it for them anymore. At a click of a button, they can send the surveys out to many who have registered with them to answer surveys. In the past, someone would have to call each person up and speak to them. As for those answering the surveys, it is really easy money. For a few minutes of their time, at their own leisure, they just click a few answers and the money comes in ! Wonderful concept.

Just a side comment. Trading in stocks and their derivatives have been around for a long time. All this has become so much easier with the internet. Traders no longer need to call up their brokers frantically trying to buy or sell their stocks. That's another way to make money online.

And finally, this one took me by surprise when I first read of it in the newspapers. People are now selling virtual products online. There are many online games, some where players from all over the world meet in the virtual world. Some games involve creating characters with particular powers, or with particular weapons that can be used against other players. The article mentioned that some people were actually paying others real money for virtual weapons !

There are so many ways of making money online. Money is being created everyday this way. And all it takes is a lot of imagination , eyes to see where the money is and a little technical know-how.

Chablais - Porte Du Soleil Ski Resort

The Chablais Alps is the western portion of the Alps near Lake Geneva in Switzerland zigzags to the Mont Blanc pinnacle. The Col des Montets keeps them from reaching Mont Blanc proper, however. There are several large mountains in the area too. The tallest is Dents du Midi (Mountain Teeth) at 3257 meters, with others like Mont Ruan at 3053 meters and Dents Blanches at 2759 meters. Chablais, Les Portes du Soleil, then, is a sizable quarter of the Chablais Alps housing some thirteen resorts between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

Each of the communes offers up their own culture and history, with walking tours, tourist's offices and true Swiss culture everywhere. It could take days to tour and learn something new about each one. The highest commune, by example, is Avoriaz. This modern area built in the mid-1960s used a lot of materials such as wood and stone from the area, rendering it both attractive and eco-friendlier before the word existed. The other bonus is Avoriaz is pedestrian-friendly with a no car policy. If you're looking for the most snow in this area, you'll neither get any better snow nor any higher altitude than here.

Other resorty towns in the area include Morzine at 1000 meters. There's a traditional market and chalets near the river gorge giving pristine views. Beginners, you'll find the best skiing here making it one of the best bases for families. Plus, Morzine is bull's eye center in one of the best regions of the Porte du Soleil for getting around. Not to be confused with Morzine, Morgins is not as crowded as the French side of the ski area. Here, there are also some really nice cozy chalets for families wanting to escape the noise and throngs in higher Chablais Porte du Soleil ski resorts. You'll find plenty of other resorts with their own ambiance. Champery, Val D'Illiez and Torgon are just a few Swiss resorts that have a different mood you might be looking for.

You'll not only find contrasts in the resort towns but in the activities extended by each. You'll almost always get a heartfelt welcome-it seems the farther you traveled, the more balmy the welcome. There are more cultural and historical sites to behold here than any other ski resorts in the area, on either side of the border. There are four ways to get here. You can here in less than an hour from the Geneva airport. You can come from anywhere in Europe by car, by train or even by boat (given that you are on waterways and Lake Geneva).

It's hard to hold back from a visit when the ski region is so expansive: 14 valleys, 645 square kilometers, 650 of marked ski runs and nearly 230 lifts can keep hundreds of thousands of tourists in good spirits for their entire ski vacation. Though the highest ski lift only takes you up to 2466 meters, the snow cannons jet fresh powder on the runs ensuring great all-day skiing. Different slopes face different ways, with nearly each one offering something for every skill level. If you're whole family wants to go to Chatel, for example, and find over three main ski areas to choose from-one for Mom, Dad and Child.

In the region of Chablais in the Porte du Soleil, you'll find the highest lift taking you upwards of 2400 meters to below 1000 meters above sea level. There are over 80 chairlifts and four cable lifts. The 14 gondolas, however, take care of the larger groups in no time at all. If you know your level, you'll be able to find your marked path. The area was initially developed with beginners in mind, so there are 112 blue runs at hand. With the growth and integration of the ski areas, there are now 146 green runs, quite a few more than beginner runs to date. Additionally, there are 23 red runs and six black runs.

If skiing on your entire vacation has got your legs shaking, then you can try a plethora of other outdoor and indoor activities. In addition to snowboarding, you can snowshoe and hike through the area. There are alpine races, leisure parks and museums and cultural affairs nearly every day of the high ski season. Moreover, the restaurants and bars and après ski options never go dim. You can find something to do anytime you get a hankering to have a great time. And, if you're in photography, don't forget you're in the Rhone Valley, one of the world's best spots for alpine peaks and landscape photography. The Chablais region of Porte du Soleil is second to none for a skiing vacation. Once you arrive, you and your family will have the best times of your lives.

International Impacts on a Business Plan

International business plans require additional study compared to domestic ones. These require additional expense and time to resolve. Here we will discuss four critical ones for a business plan.

First, we must decide on the business structure. Countries have favorite structures that evolve slowly. When considering international companies, different structures might be required. Typically, the type of business structure must be discussed with a business consultant in the country itself. This will most often be a lawyer from that country. It's possible that a lawyer in your home country would know the laws of another, but it's not very common. This information is critical for the correct filing of papers, company organization and other important details. As we are deciding which structure to use for a foreign country, the decision on how to control it is also important. Will the foreign company be a stand-alone? Will it be a subsidiary of another company? These questions can only be answered after much consultation. The research answers will heavily influence the resulting business plan and the resulting company.

Next, we must evaluate the government and legal environment in our home country and the new country. Our business plan must account for and demonstrate an understanding of challenges. It is common for countries to place severe restrictions on how foreign companies are organized, operated and owned. Some require a resident citizen to be involved in a company, while others require varying amounts of capital and social spending to operate. Too, the tax structure of the country may place restrictions on how capital flows into and out of the company and country. Also, taxes must be levied, collected and remitted according to laws of all the countries involved.

Some countries allow capital to flow in freely but don't allow capital to flow out. Another concern is the stability and freedom that the country enjoys. Many countries have whimsical or tyrannical dictators that change policy at their leisure. This can create an atmosphere where investment is encouraged and then after all the hard work is done, they nationalize or repatriate the company. This is very common place in third world countries and should be factored into any decision for the business plan. Too, there are many other financial facets in operating internationally, such as: currency valuation and devaluation; import and export taxes; inflation and deflation; and world economic changes.

Third, we have the movement of funds. Earlier we touched on it in relation to putting capital into the company or moving it out. All countries have laws related to the movement of funds. Most also track fund movements and force financial institutions to collect and supply information concerning funds moving across international borders. Some of this has happened because of the fight against world terror, but most as evolved over time with the terror struggle being an excuse to collect information. These laws may restrict the amount, form and the timeliness of funds transfers. It is proper to discuss fund acquisition in the business plan; but for an international company, fund transfers and currency concerns must also be covered items.

Finally, extended control of an alien company must be determined and discussed in the business plan. It costs time, money and other resources to control a company far from the normal environment. People must often travel there to evaluate and monitor progress. Personnel must do accounting and reporting within the guidelines of the country where the business is located. This control and monitoring function is daunting for international companies because it brings together differing ideals, cultures, laws and experiences plus often there is a language barrier to be traversed. This leads to a challenging business environment. It's not one that is impossible, but it is one to be scrutinized and considered carefully during the business plan development and feasibility reviews.

The Stress-Hope Teeter Totter

Why do you want to annihilate stress? The best reason for annihilating stress is because when you are in a stressful situation, you lose hope. You lose focus on your goals. If you are a business professional responsible for bringing in new business, you may feel you want to give up.

Stress and hope sit at opposite ends of a teeter totter.

Do you remember when you where a small child playing on a playground at school. Many schools provided equipment for exercise. One of these pieces of equipment was a teeter totter. A teeter totter or seesaw as it is known in some places is simply a board balancing on a fulcrum with a place to sit at each end.

Two children sit on a teeter totter with the heaviest child sitting first in order for the lighter child to take a seat on the other end to balance out the load. They alternatively shift their weight to cause their seat on the teeter totter to go up and down.

Stress and hope work the same way as the two children conducting the balancing act on the teeter totter. Stress or fear as it is more accurately defined, and hope, or goals as it is more accurately portrayed, sit at opposite ends of the teeter totter.

As one end goes up the other end goes down. As stress increases its end goes higher in the air and hope goes down. As hope climbs higher in the air, stress goes down. Stress and fear are always opposing hope and goals.

It seems accurate that we need to annihilate stress and fear in order to elevate our hope and our goals.

I remember the movie the "Shawshank Redemption" where the wrongly imprisoned character, Andy, told the other inmates that hope was something no one could take away from you. He said "hope is a good thing, maybe the only thing."

We begin our lives here on earth, knowing that we could die or be incapacitated at any moment. This is why stress or fear is always near the surface of our thoughts. The major thing that keeps us going is "hope;" hope for good health, hope for enjoyable relationships, hope for positive achievements and hope for enough money to pay for all of our desires.

To the degree that we can diminish stress and fear, we can elevate our goals and elevate hope. Is it difficult to keep hope alive while eliminating stress and fear? Yes it is difficult.

Fear is always appealing to our senses. Advertisers for example focus on our fears.

I remember an automobile commercial that started out by two guys arguing in the car and then an accident ensued. The two men were okay but shaken up visibly by the accident. Anyone watching the commercial can identify with the fear and stress associated with the accident.

Television newscasts focus on several fearful, stress causing events before they get to the sports news, business news or weather. Viewers become hooked on these stressful situations as they arrive home from work and while watching television.

Through all of our entertainment options we observe stress and fear. Words to incite fear are abundant in our spectator sports.

Think about the words and phrases you hear by sports commentators. Think about words and phrases like, "sudden death," "elimination round," "Yankees murder Red Sox," "Spurs defeat Suns."

The overwhelming majority of sports fans are affected by these terms because they are supporting "losing teams." There is usually only one world champion in any given sport, meaning all of the rest of the sports fans "feel stress and the agony of defeat." We experience the other end of the teeter totter as we lose hope.

Do you think we may carry some of this loss of hope into our jobs and our personal lives?

We are so used to being motivated by fear and stress that even our leisure time activities reflect it. Isn't that a shame?

Always remember these statements: "When we are playing on the teeter totter, stress is at one end and hope is at the other end." "We need to develop a quiet confidence to move our minds and bodies in the direction of hope."

What is your ultimate goal? Where do you want to be in five years? If you could time travel to a place in your life five years from now and look back at today, what would you tell yourself about today. How important are the stressful situations you face right now in your life? Would today even be that important in your overall success? Five years into the future, would you still be thinking about your favorite sports teams' loss of five years ago, or the price of gasoline?

Think about what life will be like five years into the future. Think about your victories, your goals and your hope.

The Teeter Totter Exercise:

Take three slow deep breaths. As you inhale slowly, breathe deeply from the bottom of your lungs. Before you exhale, hold your breath for a few moments and then exhale very slowly. Push all of the tension out of your lungs.

See yourself on the teeter totter flying higher in the air. Think about hope. Think about your specific goals and feel in your mind, your heart and your body that you have already achieved your goals.

Summary:

Stress and hope are constantly competing on your teeter totter of life. Stress always equals fear and hope always equals your goals. Use the teeter totter exercise daily and you will take a huge step to annihilate stress and propagate hope.

Niagara Day Trip - Girlfriend's Great Idea!

I'm now the biggest fan of Niagara-on-the-Lake ... Who Knew?

With July being the high peek of summer, there is no shortage of things to see and do - all within a cheap, close drive from Toronto. Treat yourself and your partner to that summer vacation without spending a fortune in gas money or taking 3 days to travel to your destination. Once in a while you really just need to get away to something more laid back and quaint - take the opportunity to explore something outside of your metropolis and experience things that are different from your normal way of life.

The Girl suggested we hit up the Niagara region, specifically the tiny village of Niagara-On-The-Lake. This is a part of Southern Ontario known famously for its wineries, antiques, and of course the popular Shaw Festival: a theatrical festival celebrating the works of playwright George Bernard Shaw. At first I was hesitant, hearing largely that the area attracted an older crowd. Regardless, The Girl marched on making preparations for the day in spite of my fears of this generation gap. "It won't matter after going wine tasting," I thought to myself.

It was decided that both of us would take Friday off and start on our little journey to the Niagara Region around 11 AM, life moves at a slower pace down there for the better, so why not start the day off with a relaxing little sleep in! Heading down the Q.E.W. we slowly saw the city fade into suburban bliss, developments dotted alongside the highway turned into bungalows with spacious lawns, and finally rows of grape trees neatly lined up one after the other as far as the eye could see.

Our lineup of activities consisted of grabbing a bite to eat, some wine tasting, and then taking in the matinee performance of "Mrs Warren's Profession". The area itself is pleasing to the eye; large trees and lush lawns engulf the area as you head down winding roads into the main strip of town on Queen Street. It is here where most of the action takes place. Unique gift shops, restaurants, old historic buildings, horse drawn carriages, hotels, and two of the Shaw theatres neatly file down the large street as people leisurely stroll up and down.

After taking a short drive down the main strip, parking and paying a mere dollar for an hours worth of time (a dollar!), we headed into the "Stagecoach Family Restaurant", a bustling diner with fast and courteous service. I ordered a BLT and The Girl opted for a very authentic Greek salad in a place that seemed like it wouldn't serve one. Our meals came and went quickly, the staff gets the throngs of people in and out in a timely fashion (with no push to rush) in order to cater to their consistently full house.

The Niagara region is well known for its numerous vineyards, providing the country and the world with award winning wines. After driving around and scoping out the scene, we settled on Pellar Estates Winery, a sprawling vineyard with a beautiful building which houses the wine tasting and event areas for those special occasions. The place literally transports you to the wine tasting centres of the world like the Nappa Valley, especially when that trip to California isn't exactly in your budget at the moment.

Our sommelier Mike greets us with a warm welcome, something that we've grown accustomed to since arriving in the area - everyone is friendly! Over the next hour he educates us on the different methods of wine tasting, all the while making us feel like he is totally not selling anything. We learn about the proper tasting techniques, how to enjoy your wine, and how the glass makes a difference when tasting. We make sure not to take in too much of the tasting; we still have to go see a play! After some recommendations from Mike, we proceed to the exit - with a couple of bottles for later on at home of course!

Finally we arrive at the last destination of our fun little day trip away from the city, a performance of Bernard Shaw's "Mrs Warren's Profession". One of Shaw's raciest plays (the house programme tells me that it was banned practically everywhere when it was first produced) it focuses on Mrs. Kitty Warren, a hard working mother providing for her daughter Vivie. Upon learning of how her mother obtained such wealth, scandal breaks loose and mother and daughter battle each other over love, sex, money, and morality.

The play is housed in the large "Festival Theatre", the Shaw's flagship theatre that can seat up to 856 people and is used for large-scale productions. With a café and outdoor patio, we decide to enjoy another drink before the show starts and also take in a stroll around the surrounding garden. The production is as racy as it was described to be. I will admit that Shaw's "Pygmalion" is one of my all time favourite plays, so I have nothing but glowing things to say about this playwright.

With our day at an end, we lazily made our way back to the car and headed back to the grind and noise of the city. On a whole the trip was a great change of pace, and we're thinking of going back for a weekend to try out some one of the lovely bed and breakfast's or inns around the area. For a fun, interesting, and relatively inexpensive trip, the Shaw Festival [http://www.movietrailerlive.com/ct_0001_Shawfest] along with the village of Niagara-On-The-Lake is a great place to head to relax the soul and stimulate the mind!

Competitors from all over the world are welcome and in the past they have had competitors from Germany, Finland, New Zealand and the USA.

One recent event was the Maldon Classic Motor Show. Due to return in July 2010, the 2009 show featured a variety of pristine classic cars and commercial and military vehicles and even included the Ford Gran Torino and the General Lee (Dodge Charger) from the TV shows Starsky & Hutch and the Dukes of Hazard.

This review is going to talk about some first user's experience with the Amazon Kindle 2 and more in depth information about the Sony PRS-505.

After 10 years digital books and e books finally leave the computer and become readable on external devices, this is in large part thanks to the competition in the market of the portable devices. The 2 main players of the e-reader are Amazon's Kindle 2 and Sony Corp.'s Portable Reader System.

Amazon as usual wants the first place and the dominant position in the e-reader world. The Kindle, in its three versions is obviously aiming even if no one will admit it to monopolies this market and pass from the biggest reseller of physical books to the empire of the eBooks thanks to the Kindle 2.

To better promote this strategy Amazon is building into each Kindle 2 a wireless system that works anywhere cell phone service is available. On the other hand Sony users rely on computers connected to the Internet to purchase and download content like eBooks for their devices. Kindle 2 users are not restricted to a wire.

Almost too easy to buy content over that wireless connection and send it straight to the Kindle 2. Smart thing if you want to find yourself purchasing items you didn't want and having to delete them later. Amazon is making it more convenient every day to seduce the potential buyers and increase market share.

Many readers prefer the privacy of the Sony, after playing around with a Kindle 2 for a couple of days.
Also battery life is better conserved when you can press a button when interested in a internet connection The Kindle is a little "trigger happy" for some. But many others obviously feel the opposite.

Both the Kindle 2 and its competitor are easy to read, even under direct light. The Kindle is a little more robust and a bit heavier. The instructions and quick-start guide have Kindle 2 running first and it has a better written and more detailed user manual Sony takes more time to master for the most.

Fonts represent a significant deference between the Kindle 2 and its rival; Kindle offers 6 and Sony 3. Also larger font sizes are great help Kindle gives older eyes, but formatting irregularities are present in both models. Amazon Kindle 2 has 1 USB cord (to hook the device to a computer) with a small electric power adapter. Sony: two different cords and the AC-DC power is an extra charges.

PDF the current universal standard format for academic is not supported by the Kindle 2 like a True monopolist, unlike the Sony that does, Instead, Amazon offers its users to send the document to their computers and convert the file for free with the automatic document conversion service, and then transfer them back to their Kindles but charges to send converted documents directly to a Amazon Kindle 2.

For people who read a primarily academic, business and government publications should opt for the Sony For the bestsellers and news readers the Kindle is probably better for the moment, even if for now they are limited in their reading options (not every new book, newspaper, magazine or blog is Kindle compatible). Also the larger the PDF file is the more frequent and perceptible are the formatting problems. That's if you deal with lots of Adobe documents. It's OK for word documents, but not as much for leisure reading or rich art, charts, and photos content.

If you want the advantage of a compact electronic library, remember that neither the Kindle 2 nor the Sony can be called cheap, and what about the cost of content. No matter if you travel extensively and you are a e book reader, or simply have to have the latest digital thingy, ebooks remain a luxury in the current economy.

Overall I liked the Amazon Kindle 2 better and I see a better future for it in my life, you.... Need to make up your choice.

Teeth Whitening Paint - Smile With Confidence

Say Goodbye To Discoloured Teeth

Do you find yourself avoiding social situations more and more or making excuses when presented with the opportunity to meet new people because you are embarrassed by the look of your teeth? It is a proven fact that self-esteem suffers greatly when we are not happy with our physical appearance. If you have been unable to change the discoloration of your teeth due to cost then you need to take a little time to find out about teeth whitening paint. Most systems that are available are costly and time consuming and require the use of trays or plastic strips and often repeated visits to your dental office. With teeth whitening paint there is no apparatus involved and the whitener is applied directly onto the surface of your teeth using a simple brush. The whitening paint solidifies once it has been painted on thus creating a film that adheres to the teeth.

Since the results are seen right away, it can be used anytime an unexpected social or professional situation arises. People in the media, models and actors in theatre and film use it regularly to give both their private and public image the best smile they can. Go to that important interview that became available at the last minute with confidence knowing that you will be able to focus on the task at hand rather that being worried that the person interviewing you is getting the wrong impression when you smile.

Harmless, Non-Toxic and Safe

Teeth whitening paint produces an instant cosmetic layer over the discolouration of your teeth caused by tobacco stains, aging, gray tooth syndrome, etc., and will give you the appearance of naturally white, healthy teeth. Teeth whitening paint can also be used to brighten crowns, dentures, bridges, veneers and caps; it is harmless, non-toxic and has been analyzed for safety. Reclaim your self-confidence and don't hide your smile any longer. Soon you will find yourself saying yes to impromptu gatherings and will smile openly whenever someone brings out a camera.

Improve your Appearance Instantly

Take the time to go on line now and order the teeth whitening paint used by professionals and instantly improve your appearance. You take care to look your best by carefully choosing the right outfit for work or leisure activities. You maintain a healthy body by eating right and exercising regularly. While all those things are important they will not overcome the look of yellow and stained teeth. First impressions are instant and long lasting. Don't let the one thing that people remember about you to be your inability to smile or when you do, see a smile full of yellowing and stained teeth. You will be amazed at the renewed vitality you will feel when you can shake someone's hand and confidently flash a healthy and white smile. Take the time right now to order your whitening paint and reclaim your self-esteem. Go ahead on a date and dazzle that special someone and enjoy an evening of dining, dancing and lots of smiles. You can enjoy all your special outings once you've used your whitening paint!

No Longer Be Self-conscious

One or two teeth that are discoloured can ruin an otherwise bright and pleasant smile. We all know that the person or people we are talking to notice teeth that appear yellow and stained. It makes it difficult for someone to focus on what you have to say or to just simply enjoy your company when they constantly see teeth that are discoloured. For anyone who has had a root canal that has later darkened the tooth, you know how self-conscious it makes you to have people see a single off-coloured tooth. One of the great advantages of teeth whitening paint products is that you are able to change the color of one single tooth. No longer will you find yourself trying to hide your smile or avoiding situations where people will see your teeth.

A Clean, Bright, Healthy Smile

It can be very cumbersome using teeth whitening trays, especially when you may only have one or a few teeth that need to be whitened. Products such as bleaching trays or plastic strips can be difficult to keep in place and can cause gum irritation and in some people even excessive salivation. Teeth whitening paint is a great solution for people who need to whiten some or even all of their teeth without the inconvenience of other, often cumbersome whitening products.

If you have been considering whitening your teeth but are not sure how you feel about the process, the perfect place to start is with an inexpensive and easy to use teeth whitening paint. Don't wait any longer to regain a clean, bright and healthy smile. Purchase your teeth whitening paint right now and regain the confidence you always had smiling and talking with friends, family and co-workers.

Whiten Your Smile With Teeth Whitening

There are many choices in today's market if you are looking to whiten your teeth. We all know the impact of first impressions and if you have a smile that shows some, all or most of your teeth with stains, it can have a very negative impact on the people you meet. If the price and inconvenience of repeated visits to a cosmetic dentist are not for you, there are still options like teeth whitening paint that many people have taken advantage of over the years. Some advantages are obvious, like being able to administer the procedure at home rather than traveling to a dental office or the large amount of money you will save with a teeth whitening paint product.

If like many people who are considering regaining a bright, healthy smile, you need to only whiten one or a few teeth, teeth whitening paint may be the solution you have been looking for. There are generally a couple of options when you have chosen to use a teeth whitening paint product. It can be applied and left on for 30 minutes or painted on and left overnight. You will also be able to find one that uses carbamide peroxide rather than the more traditional hydrogen peroxide. The advantage of carbamide is that it will not harm your teeth like hydrogen peroxide can and is the recommended choice of bleaching agents by most dentists.

The Moon Landing Really was Fake

There are many half crazed, mad, lunatic conspiracy theorists who would have us believe that there never was any moon landings in the sixties and that all the films, photos and artifacts that supposedly was taken then, are faked and was made in a film studio by George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Arthur C Clark.

They say that it is too dangerous to walk on the moon, because of secret Strogg basis there, moon muggers as well as unearthly radiation. Others claim that the photos are all wrong, under exposed and where are the stars? Other lunatics say it is so hot on the moon that the astronauts would have been cooked alive in those big lumpy aluminum suits they were wearing. Still other say it is so cold on the moon that the lunar module would have cracked like metal falling in dry ice. Others say it is so dark on the moon that...well you get the picture

Well, la di da, I would say to these lunatics. I did some research on this subject and came up with the real truth like I always do. Traveling all over my home town and doing lots of research on the Internet I gathered all the evidence I need to write what I am about to write here.

The real truth is that people have been visiting the moon since the middle ages. The Nazi's even established a moon base there in 1942 and the Americans have been partying there since the late 50's. There are even those who claim that the Dogon tribe went there with mud and grass spaceships in ancient times...

But let's start at the beginning.

One evening in 1203 Johannes Vogel of Mittestadt in Germania had a dream that he was being pulled through the sky in a basket by twenty huge and powerful birds. The next morning he told his wife about his dream, who subsequently hit him on the head with a bread roller screaming: "You drunken, lazy oaf, go find work and bring money into the house for a chance. This is what happens when you eat too much meat and drink too much beer before going to bed at night."

But by that afternoon Vogel and his son were catching huge pelicans and flamingos in the nearby swamp. They then put the birds in a big enclosed camp where they had them do all kinds of exercises like aerobics and weight training for a period of three months.

They say that after catching the birds Johannes changed into a real nasty drill master and the birds hated him.

They say the day that they started their exercise regime Vogel walked through their ranks stating: "I have never seen a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself."

Then Vogel started giving those birds the hardest training birds have ever received.

After those three months all those birds were well muscled and so muscular that even their wings had muscles, why even their muscles had muscles.

Johannes Vogel then put little harnesses on the birds and attached them to the great wicker basket that he inherited from his grandfather. The birds (all having birdbrains) immediately tried to escape on being released thinking more exercises were to follow and with this they pulled Johannes and his wicker basket into the sky. The more they tried to get away from Johannes, the higher they pulled him.

No birds flew like those birds flew on that day, not before nor afterwards...

They pulled the basket right past the atmosphere of earth and right to the moon. The problem was that the birds were totally exhausted and died on landing on the moon. Vogel had no way of returning to earth. No one really knows what happened to Vogel, but historians are sure that he was the first man who died on the moon.

When the Nazi's went to the moon in 1942 the only evidence they found of Vogel was a handwritten note which states: " No, no, it is them, they have returned... they have feathers, they have teeth, they are huge, no...I am sorry...mercy noooo....aaaaaaaaaahhhhh, I am being killed by....." and then they couldn't make out the scrawlings anymore.

In any case, the Nazi's established a base on the moon. This base is being used up to this day. Once the Nazi's were on the moon, they were contacted by renegade aliens who gave them lots of ultra modern unheard of technology, like rock and roll, television, Playstation, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the Internet, etc. The Nazi's subsequently used this technology to take over the world bit by bit, without anyone knowing and without shooting even one shot.

In the meantime the Americans have also reached the moon in 1950 being given the technology by traitorous Nazi scientists who wanted to save their own skins after the Nazis lost the war on Earth.

The Americans then also secretly established their own basis there. It is ironic that their first base was called Alpha 1999, after Doctor Alpha 1999 who was the inventor of the space screw.

With their typical I-am-never-satisfied-with-what-I-have attitude the Americans build lots of space stations on and around the moon and was soon on their way to Mars, Jupiter and Uranus where they have many colonies by now.

You didn't really think that these abducted people were abducted by Aliens, did you. No, gentle reader, these people are abducted to be used as slave labor for the American colonies on other planets in our solar system. Using humans to cut and carry rocks and doing mining is apparently more efficient than using machinery.

In any case by 1963 the Americans were already on Mars, but his was never made public.

In that same year, the then idiot who was voted in as president, John F Kennedy said that they will put a man on the moon. This is what happens if one gives a major speech after drinking two whole bottles of Irish Whisky.

This was really embarrassing to NASA who now had to start pretending as if they were really going to put a man on the moon, by using the primitive technology of Earth or at least the technology that it pretended to have.

Kennedy was leisurely killed one sunny day in Texas to teach him to keep his drunken mouth shut. This was done by an assassin from the moon that was specially assigned this task, because he would never be traced. He stood on the grassy knoll, right in front of Kennedy's car and shot him full in the face three times. After assassinating Kennedy he was simply beamed back up to the moon.

The FBI was too embarrassed to admit that they had no evidence on who killed Kennedy and framed Lee Harvey Oswald for the assassination. When they saw their case would be torn apart in court they hired Jack Ruby to kill Oswald and make the whole nasty episode go away (or so they thought).

To make a very long story short NASA then decided to fake the whole going to the moon episode. They used their movie studios on Mars to produce a fake moon landing. Why did they use the studios on Mars, you would ask. Not only was it more cost effective to make the movie there, it is also a secret location and they didn't have to make use of earth personnel. That is why no-one as yet came forward to claim that they were part of this elaborate hoax.

They just knew that Lucas and Spielberg would be the people with enough imagination to make such a movie. Where did you think two teenagers got such a lot of money from to produce blockbusters like Star Wars and Back to the Future? And why is Spielberg allowed to use secret, ultra modern NASA technology to make his movies? Now you know.

If you read the rest of the conspiracies on this site, you would know by now that NASA is being run by Jewish bankers who are in reality Egyptian bankers who are collecting money to build a humongous Giza like pyramid. These guys are so stingy they won't waste even one cent if they can prevent it.

Where is my proof for all this, my more intelligent readers would ask. I found this in a secret cave hidden in the mountains surrounding the village where I live.

1. An invoice with the NASA letterhead on made out to a Mister S Spielberg stating: Full amount for making movie of fake moon landing in our studios on the planet Mars.

2. A note written on NASA notepaper stating: Dear Mr Jack anyone-who-makes-fun-of-my momma-or-my-surname-is-a-death-motherfucker Ruby, our agents talked to Lee Harvey Oswald. He told us to tell you the following: "yo momma is so fat, the pyramid of Giza is her breakfast chair, you have a girly surname and go fuck yourself you big fat slob." Gun will be left in the middle stall in the basement toilet, if you are in the vicinity at about 09:30. Regards, Mr X aka the smoking thin man.

3. Apiece of moon rock with the legend LucasArt Light and Magic stamped on the bottom.

4. A photo of Spielberg standing hand around the neck with what looks like ET, but couldn't have been, because the photo was taken in 1963. In the background a signboard that says Mars City One McDonalds can clearly be seen.

If this doesn't convince you the moon landing was fake, you are a Lizard...

From Zero To Hero With Hypnosis

My story

For many years I suffered from alcoholism and major depression, I would frequently consider suicide and I could not see any real reason to continue living. My world fell apart, I lost a highly paid job, was forced to move to an area where I did not want to live, my partner and children left me and I sought solace in alcohol. I lived on my own in chaos and my alcoholism became more of a problem, I was prescribed antidepressants which when mixed with alcohol left me spaced out of my mind. I knew I had to do something about my condition, alcohol was ruining my life and prescribed medication was only making things worse. At the worst point in my life, I had nothing apart from an old car filled with my few possessions.

I wondered if they might be any natural alternatives which could cure me, I tried natural antidepressants, learned how to meditate, sought spiritual development, but I remained stuck, that was at least until I discovered brainwave entrainment. I purchased some software off the Internet which allowed me to create tones for meditation, I created 30 minute tracks which generated tones to induce a level of meditation traditionally experienced only by Masters of meditation. I was astounded at how effective these tracks were and that by listening to the tracks just once a day profound changes were occurring in my life. I came off my medication, my outlook on life became more positive and I no longer felt suicidal. I started to discover and enjoy being myself, I began to get amazing flashes of intuition and creativity and best of all, I was finally able to overcome a 25 year addiction to alcohol. This truly was a great power and had opened me to world of fantastic opportunity.

What is brainwave entrainment in a nutshell?

Brainwave entrainment is the process of applying an audio stimulus to the brain to invoke a desired change in brainwave frequency. Using brainwave entrainment it is possible to meditate like a Zen master, overcome insomnia, become more creative, overcome addictions and even increase your IQ!

How is my life different today?

I work from home and I can afford all of the luxuries that I want, I own my own house and only pay for utilities and services, I got married a year ago, I travel abroad when I want to, I work when I want to and I play a lot. I never conceived that life could be this good, I always believed life was meant to be hard! My intuition guided me and I was able to create products which would sell on autopilot and generate fantastic income with minimal effort on my part, it was a dream come true, I had truly become independent and no longer had to answer to anyone apart from myself. I start the day off with a swim, Jacuzzi and sauna and spend each day having fun! I generally only have to work a couple of hours a week and its work that I enjoy and can choose to do at my leisure. I find it hard to believe that those few hours of work I do each week make me more than I did when I was working full time. I'm currently in the process of automating those two hours of work and outsourcing future developments to third parties, so all I have to do is to explore my creativity.

Can you afford not to give it a try?

Well it is entirely up to you, if you are content to stay where you are then by all means do, but if you really want to change then I'm offering you an opportunity to fulfill your wildest dreams.

5 Great Ways To Profit From Web Videos

Internet Video is still in its infancy with so much potential ahead. Now is the time to get started and here are some ways that you can profit from web video.

1. Upload Your Videos To Ad Revenue Sharing Sites.

Although YouTube is the leader in video sharing and syndication it has only just introduced placing adverts on its videos to monetize the site. Despite the fact that over 37000 videos are submitted each day only those videos from YouTubes' professional content partners and over 70 independent partner channels will have their videos monetized and receive a percentage of the income.

To profit from submitting your videos then you must look elsewhere and Revver should be your first stop. Revver is..

. a video-sharing platform built the way the internet really works. We support the free and unlimited sharing of media. Our unique technology tracks and monetizes videos as they spread virally across the web, so no matter where your creativity travels, you benefit.

.. the viral video network that pays. We connect video makers and sharers with sponsors in a free and open marketplace that rewards them for doing what they do best.

.. committed to the artist. You have something to say and we built our network to empower you to say it.

Revver recently announced that it had paid out $1 million amongst 25000 video submitters. It is not the only site sharing revenue with video submitters depending on how many times the videos are viewed. Blip.TV and eefoof offer revenue sharing as well.

2. Combine Web Video With Affiliate Marketing

Review a product with a well written article. Lots of new products on the market now have a video embedded within the sales landing page. Using a program such as Affiliate Video Brander you can make use of the sales page video and incorporate it into your article or blog post.

This has many advantages, no cost to you, no time spent producing the video and not even the techie knowledge on how to make videos. As long as you receive permission to show the video, and why wouldn't you as the product owner wants to sell as much product as possible, all you have to do is show the video and collect the affiliate commissions.

3. Create Your Own Google Video Site.

Most movies available on Google Video can be embedded on any web page. If the option is available for the video, there will be a link next to it that gives you the embed code.

If you create a niche site that has plenty of videos available at Google Video and build the site with WordPress you can quickly have a site where you can continuously add new content, much loved by Google. You can find videos about dogs, martial arts and DIY just to name a few.

Create a post for each video, write some text about what is covered in the video and make it interesting. Add Google AdSense ads and/or related product affiliate links to the post and also include an opt in box to capture your viewers email address to notify them of new videos and related offers.

If this proves successful then you can research another niche and start an additional site.

4. Create Promotional Videos For Local Businesses

Once you have experience of making your own videos and have the confidence and equipment required then contact some of your local businesses and show them the benefits of adding video to their websites or starting a website if they do not have one already. I know of a pest control website in the USA which has increased business by displaying funny videos about, you guessed it, pests.

Obvious potential clients would be Realtors, Hotels, Leisure Centers and Car Dealers. It is advisable to license the videos to your clients as it would cost them less to start with and encourage more business, especially once they start to benefit from your input.

Create your own website promoting your services and start advertising in the local press and at the venues of local business and society meetings. Print up business cards to pass around.

5. Place Affiliate Links in Your Own Videos

When you are hosting your own videos or paying for a paid web video service then you have control over your videos and can add redirect websites to the video to take your viewers to your affiliate partners. This can easily be done using my program VideoWebWizard.

You cannot add redirect websites to videos submitted to YouTube and other free video sharing sites or video syndication sites.

This is just five ideas on ways to profit from web videos. There are more ways than this and maybe you can think of more yourself. There is no time like the present to get started so do it now.

Handheld GPS Devices - Analyze Your Needs Before You Purchase!

Handheld GPS devices represent a special category of all available GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver units used in various situations and for different applications. The major applicability or usefulness of handheld, portable GPS devices can be divided into two distinctive categories, i.e. for outdoor leisure and sport activities like hiking, trekking, climbing, camping and running and, secondly, for industrial applications like land surveying and position measurements at construction sites. Utilizing the GPS navigation satellite system, correct location of the GPS receiver can be determined by retrieving exact longitude, latitude and altitude coordinates. Today, most GPS receiver units, whether handheld or not, communicate through radio signals with at least four GPS satellites, whereby three satellites determine the exact location of the receiver and the fourth satellite is used for correcting the receiverâEUR(TM)s clock. After the Selective Availability regulation, which provided certain accuracy reservation for military use, was ended in 2000, the precision of civilian GPS improved from about 100m to about 20m.

Handheld GPS devices provide tremendous flexibility and convenience for the user. Not only can the user continuously monitor his, or her, exact and current geographical location and path of travel, but handheld GPS devices can be fitted for relaying with central offices or base stations that can track or follow the user for security and safety reasons. For example, GPS devices that can communicate with and supply coordinates to a central station are very popular by mountain climbers and hikers. As the GPS system has developed and improved over the past years, many new applications have emerged for the users of handheld GPS devices. Not only can users determine their current location, but also obtain a multitude of additional and supportive information through geographical maps, inserted in the GPS receiver units, such as precise navigation, locations of restaurants and hotels, weather reports, tourist attractions, etc. Currently, there are a number of companies producing and offering many different handheld GPS devices. Some of the best known include, Garmin, Magellan and DeLorme. The devices have a broad range of features, attributes and, of course, price tags. Before selecting a particular handheld device, it is important to know what you will be using it for. For example, a GPS device used for hiking may be less applicable for mountain climbing or, even less, running. Obviously, devices for industrial applications have particular requirements and qualities. If you are looking for a handheld GPS device that can be used in different circumstances, a multipurpose unit could be the answer. Furthermore, you need to have an idea of what features you are interested in or require in addition to the standard GPS and mapping functionality, e.g.:

  • Touch screen window
  • Color screen or black and white
  • Built-in camera (like in mobile phones)
  • SD (memory) card expandability
  • Voice recorder
  • Built-in electronic compass
  • Barometer
  • MP3 Music Player
  • External antenna connector
  • Etc. etc.

Obviously, as the feature list increases, so does the price. Another important thing to keep in mind is considering what geographical maps may be included or applicable to your needs, e.g. outdoor and recreational maps, street maps or marine maps. Most handheld GPS devices come with some pre-loaded or built-in geographical maps, for example a base map of the USA and Canada containing major highways, city centers, bodies of water and more. You need to find out whether you need additional detailed maps that can be added to the handheld device, for example detailed cartographic maps, topographic maps, and more.

Still another important issue to keep in mind is the GPS software that is normally included with the purchase of a new handheld GPS for uploading GPS data to a computer. By that you can conveniently view all your maps, waypoints, trails and routes from your computer screen. Many other interesting advanced features and possibilities can be implemented with an appropriate handheld GPS receiver including, playing "hide-and-seek" and "treasure-hunting" through geocaching or importing your tracks, waypoints and routes into Google Earth for tracking and monitoring. In short, handheld GPS devices offer a plethora of wonderful possibilities and options.

For maximizing its benefits, you should carefully consider your needs and requirements before you actually purchase a new handheld GPS. Common retail prices for handheld GPS devices range from $100 up to $800USD depending on built-in or available features and attributes.

Be Prepared to Use Irresistible Forces

Do you want results . . . or are you satisfied with excuses?

The barrier to irresistible growth is not the unstoppable, uncontrollable external change, but fixed (and frequently unexamined) ideas of how to respond to those changes.

John Kenneth Galbraith, the prize-winning economist, observed that "The enemy of the conventional wisdom is not ideas but the march of events." And the tide of expected future change in our society is now rapid and breathtaking to most -- whether we consider irresistible forces like the advent of the Knowledge Age (with knowledge doubling in many fields within a few years, months, or even days), the electronic improvements in communication choices (the potential number of ways for you to receive or send a message will continue to grow rapidly for many more years), shifts in work activities (from routine fulfilling of standard tasks to Peter Drucker's knowledge work) and stability (as a result of down-sizing and a "free agent" work force), demographic-driven social changes (ever older populations in the developed countries and ever younger ones everywhere else), weather volatility (both in temperatures and storms), the movements of currencies and markets, social mores of the moment (fads get shorter and shorter), or personal styles of the young (differentiating from older teenagers, not just from adults).

There is no doubt that today the world has become much more complicated and interconnected. For businesses, globalization means that the number and distance of customers, suppliers and competitors have grown geometrically. Such interconnectedness also means that what affects one can quickly spread and affect all, like the rapid expansions of computer and human viruses. These connections mean that economic and financial adjustments, especially in prices and currency values, travel faster and further than before. Your irresistible growth enterprise must be agile in adapting to these changes. I believe that making rapid and best use of sudden changes in powerful conditions no one can control is the key to becoming an irresistible growth enterprise.

When asked in the 1950s about how much control they had over their business's success, U.S. CEOs felt they had a great deal. By the start of the 1990s, CEOs often felt that irresistible forces had more impact on the company's success then the employees did.

We only have to look at various charts measuring events over the last decades to see that the volatility of many irresistible forces is also growing. In the last 30 years alone, this volatility has included an unprecedented success by a commodity cartel (the Arab oil embargo), the fall of a major government type around the world (communism), stock prices have experienced unprecedented growth in the United States and many other countries, interest rates have fluctuated from over 20 percent to as low as 2 percent in North America (and more widely elsewhere), and the advent of the service economy (of stores and local brokerage offices) was diverted into creating an information-based economy.

As these examples suggest, the degree and speed of change are both accelerating. At one time, corporate leaders could conduct leisurely studies of such changing phenomena after they began to occur, thoughtfully select the right actions, and then experiment with the best way to proceed. The time required to deliberate over choices today often costs a company its biggest opportunities, and can even lead to failure.

Consider Barnes & Noble, the leader in physical book stores. Before launching its electronic commerce business, it decided to watch what happened with Amazon.com for a while as it studied its options. By the time the leaders of Barnes & Noble were ready to act, Amazon.com had built a commanding electronic lead that will be very difficult to overcome. Naturally, it is nice to be able to find one trend and ride it for a long time. The results can be wonderful.

McDonald's is one of very few companies that have had this experience. The company's premise is based on customers' desires for dependable, inexpensive food, served quickly and effectively in convenient clean locations. From its beginnings as a single hamburger stand in the 1930s in San Bernardino, California, it has become a global giant today.

But even McDonald's had to learn eventually to adapt to the irresistible force of consumer food preferences as it moved beyond North America. The familiar hamburger, fries and soft drink menu had to expand to offer curry in England and a glass of wine in Paris.

Today's enterprises will find such long-term rides to be the exception to the rule. Consider how Microsoft flirted with disaster in the 1990s by missing the early significance of providing software and services for the Internet. Intel was originally a memory chip manufacturer, and shifted into microprocessors as its primary business somewhat by accident.

The world is full of shuttered stores that failed to meet customer needs. Their boarded up windows are mute testimony to the need to shift with the changing trends. Many of the most significant uncontrollable forces (such as new technologies, improved communications, the weather, demographics, user preferences, and economic conditions) have grown much more volatile and unpredictable in just the past five to ten years. Analysts suggest that this trend will accelerate due to the "chaos" effects of how a small change in one place in the world can cause an enormous change elsewhere.

Simply consider all of the changes that Jack Welch went through to turn General Electric from a slow-growing-industrial goods manufacturer into a financial services powerhouse with high-margin manufacturing specialties. Any one of these changes could have overwhelmed most organizations, yet Welch succeeded with several.

How well the company fares under Welch's successors will reveal a lot about the difficulties of continuing as an irresistible growth enterprise.

This multiplier effect will increasingly result with all irresistible forces, and this is the key insight upon which you must act now. While most organizations will react to such uncontrollable forces and their changes only when it is impossible not to (out of self-preservation or fear), the irresistible growth enterprise will see the creation of broad unstoppable change, the accurate anticipation of such changes, and the steady beneficial harnessing of such changes to achieve its purposes as its primary tasks.

Are you ready?
